Competition Standard Terms & Conditions 

WIN £500 worth of pet food competition 

1. Linnaeus Veterinary Limited incorporated and registered in England and Wales with company number 10790375) ("we", "us", and "our") whose registered office is at Friars Gate, 1011 Stratford Road, Shirley, West Midlands, B90 4BN is the promoter of the ‘WIN £500 worth of pet food’ (the "Competition"). 

2. The Competition will open 08.00am on 17th October 2022 and will close at 11.59pm on 30th October (the "Closing Date"). Any Entries received after the Closing Date will not be entered into the Competition. We reserve the right to amend the Competition Closing Date at any time due to events or circumstances beyond our reasonable control. The up-to-date Competition terms and conditions ("Conditions") will be available for the whole duration of the Competition at www.linnaeusgroup.co.uk  

3. Please read these Conditions carefully. Entry into any of our Competitions is subject to and conditional upon acceptance of these Conditions.

4. By entering the Competition, you (the "Entrant", "you", and "your") confirm that you have read these Conditions and agree to be bound by them and confirm that all information submitted is true, accurate, and complete. We reserve the right to verify the eligibility of any and all Entrants and may, at our sole discretion, disqualify any Entrant that fails to satisfy the eligibility requirements set out in clauses 5 and 6 below. Entrants shall at all times act in good faith towards us and the Competition. 

Who Can Enter? 

5. The Competition is only open to all residents in the UK aged 18 years or over. 

6. The following will be excluded from participating in the Competition and claiming the Prize: 

a. any LVL employees or those of its associated and subsidiary companies. 

b. employees of LVL’s agents or suppliers or those of its associated and subsidiary companies, who are professionally connected with the Offer or its administration; and

c. family members of (a) and (b) above.

7. The Competition is free to enter, and no purchase is necessary. 

How to Enter 

8. To enter the Competition, Entrants must submit a valid entry by following the steps set out in this clause 8 (the “Entry”):

a. take a photo of your pet, cat or dog. The inspiration here is ‘images that depict your pet’s personality and character’. Please do not use images that use pet clothes/fancy dress. We reserve the right to exclude these from the judging process. (the “Image”); and

b. upload their favourite Image, as a comment underneath our Competition post which will be shared across the Facebook pages of the following practices: 608 Vet Practice, Alder Vets, Brentknoll Veterinary Centre, Broadway Veterinary Surgery, Cathcart and Winn, Chapel House Veterinary Practice, Chess Veterinary Practice, Leadon Vale Veterinary Centre, Sandhole Vets, (“Practice Facebook Page”).

9. All entries must be submitted via one of our Practice Facebook Page and only one Entry per person is permitted. Duplicate Entries received and Entries submitted on behalf of someone else will not be entered into the Competition.

10. Entrants who are suspected to be acting fraudulently or dishonestly may also be disqualified. 

11. We accept no responsibility for entries not successfully completed due to a technical fault including without limitation a technical malfunction, computer hardware or software failure, satellite, network or server failure of any kind.

Winners 

12. Our panel of judges will choose 3 shortlisted photos from each brand, Facebook site, all valid Entries submitted and the top 3 shortlisted will be notified. Shortlisted entries will be notified prior to the 7th November. (the “shortlisted”). The judges’ decision will be final. 

13. The 3 shortlisted entries will be shared to each Facebook page, week commencing 7th November for public vote. The photograph with the most positive reactions, for each brand, will be the Winners. ( “the Winners”). The judges’ decision will be final.

14. A comment will be left on each winning Entry, notifying the Winners of their win and within 48 working hours of the Closing Date 13th November 11:59pm (“Notification”). For the purpose of this clause 13, "working hours" means any hours between 9.00am (GMT) and 5.00pm (GMT) on days except Saturdays, Sundays, and bank holidays and public holidays in England. 

15. To claim their Prize, each Winner will need follow the Notification instructions and provide their telephone number. They will subsequently receive a call from the practice to arrange collection of the prize. See 17. through to 20. 

16. If a Winner does not respond to the Notification within 5 days of being notified of their win, they will forfeit their Prize. We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to select an alternative winner or to dispose of the Prize as we see fit. Our decision regarding any aspect of the Competition, including without limitation correspondence regarding Prizes, is final and binding and no correspondence will be entered into about it.

Prize 

17. Each Winner will receive pet food for their cat or dog up to the value of £500 over a time frame agreed by the winner and the individual practice. The pet food will be a brand and type that is available at the practice in question. There will be no alternative. (the “Prize”).

18. The winner(s) will need to visit the practice with their pet, to have a free of charge weight check and to discuss with a Vet or Nurse the nutritional needs of their pet. This will involve the registration of their pet at the practice. This can be for the sole purpose of the prize collection and no purchase necessary. The pet food will be collected from the practice at intervals discussed and agreed by the practice. The pet food will be given in appropriate quantities, in the largest quantity bag available at the practice. 

19. We do not accept responsibility for any costs associated with the Prize that are not specifically included in the Prize.

20. We reserve the right to supply an alternative should there be incompatibility issues with the food and pet, or supply issues. This will be discussed as required.  

21. The Prize cannot, neither in part nor in full, be exchanged for cash or for any other prize.

General 

22. By entering the Competition, Winners agree to participate in such promotional activity and material as we may reasonably require, including but not limited to appearing in promotional photographs and on our website. By entering the Competition you also confirm that, if you win, we may publish your name and any photograph submitted by you on our website and/or on our Facebook, Twitter and/or other social media accounts.

Information about the Winners (name and county) can be requested by sending a stamped, self-addressed envelope, quoting the name of the Competition (being the WIN £500 worth of pet food Competition for the purposes of this competition) to the Linnaeus Brand Manager at Friars Gate, 1011 Stratford Road, Shirley, Solihull B90 4BN within 3 calendar months of the stated Closing Date.

23. By entering the Competition, you consent to the use of your personal data by us for the purposes of the administration of the Competition.

24. We will use and store any personal information submitted by you in entering the Competition in accordance with our privacy policy which can be found at: www.mars.com/privacy-policy-us

25. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we exclude liability for any and all losses, damages and claims incurred by any person in connection with participating in this Competition.

26. The Competition and these Conditions shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with, English Law. Any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with the Competition orthese Conditions will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

27. The Competition is not run in association with any other party, although prizes may be supplied by a third party. In the event that prizes have been supplied by a third party, this is not intended to suggest any endorsement or connection between us and such third party.

Our Standard terms of business.

Thank you for choosing to use the veterinary services provided by Cathcart and Winn Veterinary Hospital. We aim to provide you and your pet with lifelong veterinary care and service of the highest standard; 24 hours a day at our Farnham hospital.

Fees

The practice is registered for VAT which is charged at the current rate on all fees, medicines, consumables and diets. Fees are due at the end of each consultation, when food and medicines are collected and when patients are collected after in patient care or procedures. Separate fees are charged for each additional consultation or procedure. You are liable for fees incurred in the treatment of your pet even if he/she is bought in by a third party or following trauma such as a road traffic accident. Our written fee list is available on request. We except payment by cash, debit card & credit card. We do not except American Express.

Estimates of costs for treatments.

We are happy to provide a printed estimate of the likely cost of a particular treatment. Please be aware that the final bill may vary from the estimate because more or less treatment may be necessary, complications may occur and sometimes the full extent of treatment required is not apparent until treatment is started. We will try to contact you on the ‘phone numbers you have given us if we feel estimated costs will be exceeded, however if we are unable to contact you we will proceed with treatment to prevent pain or suffering.

Settlement terms

Payment is due at the end of each consultation, and when collecting your pets, medicines or food from us. Should an invoice not be settled within 14 days, then a reminder will be sent with an additional fee in respect of administrative costs incurred. Should it be necessary for further reminders to be sent, further charges will be incurred. These however, may be deducted if payment is made promptly. After due notice to you the client, overdue accounts will be referred to our debt collection agency and further charges will be levied in respect of costs incurred in collecting the debt: such as production of reports, correspondence, court fees, attendance at court, phone calls, home visits, etc. Any cheque returned by our bank as unpaid, any card payments not honoured and any cash paid which turns out to be counterfeit will result in the original balance of the account being restored and any bank or administration charges added to the outstanding amount.

Inability to pay

If you are unable to pay veterinary fees we ask that you speak to a member of staff before any treatment is given. Please note that instalments or part payments of any account may only be sanctioned with the express permission of the Practice Manager.

Pet Health Insurance

Cathcart and Winn strongly support the principle of insuring your pet against unexpected illness or injury, and to encourage this, we will complete the insurance forms on your behalf. Please note that it is your responsibility to settle our fees and then reclaim these from your insurance company. Direct Claims must be authorized before treatment begins.

Return of un-used medications

Any un-used medication should be returned to the surgery for safe disposal. Please note that we are unable to make a refund on any prescription items once they leave our surgery.

Pet Health Care Scheme

Cathcart and Winn believe in responsible pet ownership and encourage routine vaccinations, health checks, correct feeding and parasite control. We have a Pet Health Care Scheme which offers a monthly payment plan to cover the annual costs of these items and also offers additional benefits.

Complaints and Standards

We hope you will never have cause to complain about the standard of service you receive from Cathcart and Winn, however should you have a complaint it should be directed, in writing, to the Practice Manager. All complaints are carefully investigated. We take a very positive attitude towards client feedback and welcome any comments you wish to make about any aspect of the services we provide to you.

Ownership of Records

Case records including notes, radiographs, photographs, laboratory results, ECGs and ultrasound scans are the property of and will be retained by Cathcart and Winn Veterinary Hospital. Copies of the notes together with results of any tests or investigations will be passed, on request, to another veterinary surgeon taking over the case.

Ownership of radiographs and similar images and recordings

The care given to your animal may involve investigations and the production of a variety of recordings and images. Even though we make a charge for carrying out these investigations and interpreting the results, ownership of the resulting image or record remains with the company. No agent or person employed by, or under contract with the practice has the authority to alter or vary these conditions in any way.

Out of Hours Policy

Cathcart and Winn reserve the right to contract out the provision of out of hours emergency and night veterinary care. Vets Now, who are a separate company, currently work put of our premises to provide a dedicated emergency team and take care of our in patients. All treatment provided by Vets Now to your pet will be invoiced by them and settlement will be due to them.

Prescriptions

Prescriptions are available from this practice. You may obtain Prescription Only Medicines (POMV’s) from us or ask for a prescription and obtain these medicines from another veterinary surgeon or pharmacy. Your veterinary surgeon may only provide POMV’s for animals under his/her care. We will inform you, on request of the price of any medicines that may be prescribed for your pet. The general policy for this practice is to re-examine every 3-6 months those pets that require repeat prescriptions, but this interval may vary depending on the individual circumstances. The standard charge for a re-examination is the prevailing price of a consultation fee. We reserve the right to charge for prescriptions.

General

Cathcart and Winn may contact you by letter, ‘phone, text or electronic means in order to advise you of reminders for your pets preventative care treatments, health alerts and marketing offers that might be of benefit to you or your pet. Please tell reception if you do not wish such contact to be made, however, please be aware that this would remove the ability of the practice to send vaccination reminders. If you fail to receive a vaccine reminder, despite you agreeing to receive them, no liability can be accepted by Cathcart and Winn for any inconvenience or additional expense incurred, whether in revaccinating your pet or treating disease protected against by the vaccination. No variation of these conditions will bind unless it is specifically agreed in writing by the company’s managing director. No agent or person employed by or under contract with, the practice has the authority to alter or vary these conditions in any way.

Please note that our calls both incoming and outgoing are recorded for training and monitoring purposes.
